Morpheus8 is the first and only face and body aesthetic treatment that combines a microneedling device with fractional radiofrequency energy (RF). This groundbreaking technology allows for deep rejuvenation, resurfacing, and remodelling of the skin by promoting the production of collagen, elastin and new skin cells.
This non-surgical procedure is a powerful treatment option for skin issues and signs of ageing starting from the surface all the way to the adipose (fat) tissue, and it is safe on all skin types, and can be performed on the face, neck, arms, legs, abdomen, and chest.
Morpheus8 can be combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to enhance and speed up the rejuvenation process.
Other benefits include:
- Minimizes acne scars
- Minimizes stretch marks
- Minimizes the appearance of pores, and makes tighter firmer skin
- Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles
- Improves skin tone and texture
- Contour and eliminates fatty tissue
- Quicker results, minimal downtime (24-48hrs)
The Procedure
The procedure is performed using the following steps:
Step 1
A topical numbing cream is applied to the area(s) of the face, neck or body that the patient wished to improve.
Step 2
RF energy is delivered through advanced microneedling, and results in localized heating and coagulation of the tissue that is in direct contact with the micro-pins. Fractional coagulation promotes remodeling while untreated tissue between the pins promotes faster healing.
Pre-Care and
Post-Care Instructions
PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment.
- Excess hair may need to be shaved the night prior. Long and dense hairs prevent electrode contact with the skin’s surface.
- No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment, this includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.
- Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
- Notify the clinic with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
- Prophylactic antiviral therapy should be prescribed for patients with a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex) when treating around the mouth.
- A week before your procedure stop taking: aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids. Also, avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol a few days before your treatment. If you must take pain medication, Tylenol is your best choice.
- Patients and those with skin types IV-VI should be treated gradually by bleaching products 6 weeks prior treatment and stop at least 48 hours prior
- Morpheus8 treatment to minimize risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Stop anticoagulants 7-10 days prior to treatment, if medically permitted.
POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Cooling the skin post-treatment can reduce discomfort and excessive skin response.
- Avoid applying any product to the treated areas that would not be suitable for an open wound. If possible, do not apply any products for the first 12-24 hours.
- As soon as the open wound closes (1-3 days), apply moisturizer and sunscreen, and may use make-up.
- Blisters are rare, but when they do occur, may be treated with a prescribed antibiotic ointment, or burn treatment cream as per provider’s discretion.
- Downtime is minimal and ranges from 1-5days, a longer time for superficial treatment and higher energy levels. Some patients hardly show any surface response despite future good results.
- Elevate your head and avoid lying flat or prone (face down). Putting your head on a few pillows, will help reduce bruising, swelling, and pooling of blood in the area treated.
- Do not massage or touch the treated area(s).
- Avoid rubbing and massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- At least 3 days pre and post treatment avoid: aspirin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, alcohol, carbohydrates, caffeine, sugar, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids.
- If medically permitted, stop taking: aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, flax oil, cod liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids. Also, avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol a few days before your treatment. If you must take pain medication, Tylenol is your best choice.
- For at least 24-48 hours post treatment avoid: alcohol, caffeine, niacin, high sodium foods, high sugar foods, carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes.
- No topical products. Discontinue Retin A and Pigment Control Cream for at least 2 days after treatment.
- Do not wear makeup or lipstick on the treated area for at least 24 hours. Best to wait and restart topical regimen for 72hrs post treatment.
Allergic reactions due to topical anesthetics or post-treatment products application may require administration of special care to minimize skin reaction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a scientifically proven method to remodel and rebuild collagen. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew the deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.
The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.
Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments. Morpheus8 can also be combined with other lnMode energy treatments or injectables to achieve more extensive results.
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters.
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also slow the aging process.
